On the PDX Top Docs list
Two years running – Thank you, Portland!
About Dr. Liz Giles, DC
Patients come to me for my reputation as an effective chiropractor. They return for my compassionate and gentle approach.
You see, I take time to get to know my patients and their physical needs. This deep understanding makes all the difference in devising the best treatment, every visit. I'm honored to know that my medical peers agree. For two years running, 2016 and 2017, fellow healthcare professionals have voted me onto Portland Monthly’s Top Docs list.
And I'm always in motion, always exploring. To better serve my patients, I continue learning new treatment techniques. For instance, I've taken courses in Graston technique, the Activator method, K-taping, Sacro-Occipital technique, and I'm certified in A.R.T. (Active Release Technique). Check back next year – the list will be longer!
I grew up on the coast of Maine before pursuing theater and film in Boston and New York City. I earned my undergraduate degree in theater from NYU in 2000. During my undergraduate years, I became fascinated with movement, specifically with exploring how our movement patterns tell our story.
My artistic attraction to movement quickly turned scientific when a back injury prompted me to find ways to heal and prevent this injury from recurring. I experienced profound pain relief after practicing Pilates for just a short amount of time. To share this method with others, I became a certified Pilates trainer, focusing on rehab and injury prevention, in 2003.
My desire to do even more for my clients later prompted me to return to school. I earned my doctorate in chiropractic, graduating magna cum laude with both academic and clinical honors, from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon.
